maple-dijon marinade

this maple-dijon marinade combines sweet maple syrup and tangy dijon mustard with a pinch of spice - a balanced marinade or dressing for any protein, veggie or grain!

this recipe was created as one of those 'i need a marinade/sauce right now so what's in the pantry that will work' type of things.  sometimes the simplest flavors are the best, and in the world of food pairings, maple syrup and dijon mustard are culinary besties.

this maple-dijon marinade is so much more than a simple marinade. the smooth, mellow flavor of the maple syrup combined with the sharp dijon mustard is balanced and rich.  add in some salt, pepper & a pinch of garlic powder and you're good to go.  a versatile, tasty sauce ready in about two minutes.

this marinade goes perfectly with tofu, tempeh, chicken or fish - but is equally delicious drizzled over a veggie bowl, salad or grain/rice.

use this sauce whenever you need something to jazz up a meal - sauce or marinade, it fits the bill nearly every time!
